GRACE Event Opportunities

Virtually, any St. Andrew based event can count toward the required four GRACE events. Mass and Holy Days are not considered GRACE events as these are obligations of our Catholic Faith.

List of 2011-2012 Events

  • Adoration - First Friday of every month. Adoration 9:00 and concludes with Benediction 9:00am Saturday morning.
  • Altar Servers - Children age 10 and over are invited to train for and serve in this important liturgical ministry.
  • Blessing of the Animals – Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at 10 a.m. We welcome all parishioners to this special event honoring St. Francis of Assisi’s October 4th Feast Day. Please bring you pets either on leashes or caged. (This will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.)
  • Children’s and Teen Choir – Open to all parish children grades 2 and up. Check the bulletin or contact the music office for start dates for the regular choir and the children’s Christmas and Easter choirs.
  • Children’s Hand Bell Choir- Open to children in grades 4-8. Contact the music office.
  • Lenten Soup Suppers – Every Wednesday in Lent following 6 p.m. Mass.
  • Lenten Mission – Thursday, February 23, March 1 and 8, 2012. A children’s programs runs concurrent with the adult mission.
  • Middle and High School group service projects. Contact the youth ministry offices for group service events such as Christmas tree sales and Lenten soup suppers.
  • Stations of the Cross –Fridays during Lent at 7:00pm
  • Youth to Senior Outreach – One Saturday per month work with Wake resources for Seniors building wheelchair ramps for low-income seniors. All middle school and high school aged students are welcome to participate.

Home Based GRACE Events

  • Elijah Cup – Families will pray for vocations and for current priests, deacons, and religious with materials provided by the Faith Formation staff.
  • Sacramental Moments – If your family attends a Catholic sacramental celebration, this can be used for GRACE. (Note: A child’s own First Communion cannot be used for GRACE.)
  • Service Projects – Jesus calls us to serve others in word and action. Any parish affiliated service project, one hour or more in length can count toward GRACE. Examples include Brown Bag Ministry and Youth to Senior Outreach.
