For Centering Prayer Practitioners
Spiritual reading is time spent getting acquainted with the mind and heart of companions on our journey. They may be contemporary companions like Fr. Thomas Keating or Fr. Carl Arico, or ancient companions like the Mothers and Fathers of the Desert, later souls such as John of the Cross, Theresa of Avila, or Thomas Merton. They might even be companions from a different tradition such as the Buddhist teacher, Thich Nhat Hahn.
