St. Andrew’s Parish Library
The library is open at all times unless a meeting is scheduled.
Keep up with current information from Catholic sources, “Origins”, “Ecumenical Trends”, also via the weekly newspapers "The National Catholic Register" and the English edition of "L’Osservatore Romano".
Weekly and monthly magazines received are The Catholic World Report, Inside the Vatican, America, The Tablet, and Commonweal, etc. The above are located on the desk.
REFERENCE materials such as encyclopedias*, etc. are indicated by a yellow circle on the spine. Newspapers and magazines fall into the REFERENCE realm and are stamped as a reminder to patrons.
In order that all patrons may have access to the above, REFERENCE materials may not be removed from the library. Other items may be borrowed for a reasonable period of time such as at the public library.
Most materials are shelved by Category. Some are displayed on the counter top or throughout the library. If you have difficulty locating an item, please check the Sign Out Binder, another patron may have signed out your selection.
Current exception: A group of books written for and about Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI are together on a special shelf in the “Biography” section. Eventually these may be included in the proper individual categories...check both areas.
Please review the following pages to further acquaint yourself with the library. Listed are the various Categories, Shelf Locations and a sample of the simple Sign Out Sheet and Return Policy.
Please remember that St. Andrew’s Library is for your use to help you learn more about your Catholic Faith!
* Encyclopedias and Dictionaries located to the right of the library entrance.
