St. Andrew’s Parish Library
Located in the office area, beside the nursery, diagonally across from the kitchen, the library is open at all times unless a meeting is scheduled.
Keep up with your Catholic faith with information from sources such as:
- ORIGINS - a weekly documentary service brought to you by CNS - Catholic News Service. Also see the Diocesan webpage
- ECUMENICAL TRENDS - Franciscan Friars of the Atonement - a monthly publication of the Graymoor Ecumenical Institute. See also:
- L'OSSERVATORE ROMANO - English edition received weekly. It carries the Pope’s discourses and reports on the activities of the Holy See as well as on the main events taking place in the church in Italy and around the world. Vatican Website
Certain REFERENCE materials such as encyclopedias and dictionaries are located to the right of the library entrance. Other REFERENCE material can be located throughout the library. All newspapers and magazines located on the desk are considered REFERENCE, these are stamped as a reminder that they are for use only in the library in order that ALL may utilize them.
Most materials are shelved by "Category." Some are displayed on the counter top or throughout the room. If you have difficulty locating an item, please check the "Sign Out Binder"; another patron may have signed out your selection.
Current exception: A group of books written for and about Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI are together on a special shelf in the “Biography” section. Eventually these may be included in the proper individual categories...suggest that you check both areas.
Items may be borrowed by signing out in the "Sign Out Binder" located on the desk; please "X" out when you return then return material to the box in the lower left side of desk. As in the public library, items may be borrowed for a reasonable period of time.
