Habitat for Humanity provides volunteers interested in joining with other churches and/or organizations in the building of homes for those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
Open to all who wish to volunteer. No experience is necessary. Families, parish groups, high-schoolers (age 16 and older) are all welcome. We also need help providing lunches for the volunteers. For more information contact George Sawyer, e-mail: gsawyer@ix.netcom.com. Anyone interested in helping build a home for a family in need is welcome to help.
St. Andrew is invited to help with a new Habitat house beginning Sept. 11, 2010. Information meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall.
You can join the St. Andrew Habitat email list by signing up through our Online Ministry Sign-Up. Due to the number of parishes involved, volunteers will have to reserve a shift through the Habitat of Wake County website (link coming soon!). Questions? Contact George Sawyer at gsawyer@ix.netcom.com.
Limited number. Usually held just prior to the beginning of a new project.
At the discretion of volunteers. It normally takes 16 Saturdays to build a home. Saturday workdays start at 8:30 AM and run until 3 or 4 PM. Half-day volunteers are also needed. Lunches are usually provided.
