Nursery

The nursery provides childcare for parishioners during the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday morning. The program is run as a cooperative effort, with all parents rotating on Sundays to watch the children.

Nursery Guidelines

In addition, as renovated spaces re-open throughout our church campus, the parish has put new guidelines in place to ensure that all areas (both new and old!) are well-maintained. These guidelines apply to everyone using space at St. Andrew. Please take note of the following guidelines that in particular pertain to the nursery:

  • Food and beverages are only to be served in the Fellowship Hall and kitchen/kitchenette areas. Please do not bring food and beverage into the nursery.
  • Groups should only use space that they have reserved. During our reserved time, other groups/individuals should not use the nursery room or playground if they are not participating in the Nursery Co-op.
  • Nursery volunteers are responsible for how the area is left. It should be clean and left as it was found. When you arrive, if you find a problem (such as trash, items not put away, etc.), fill out a Problem Report. Please note: if three problem reports are filed for a group/ministry and the issue is not resolved, they will be suspended from using space at the church. So please make sure the nursery is left in order!
  • Double check any bathrooms used by the children and make sure they are clean.

Membership

Open to adult volunteers and children (walking through age 4) needing childcare during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass.

Time Commitment

One Sunday every 10 weeks (on average). This may vary due to number of volunteers rotating on the schedule.

Volunteers arrive 15 minutes prior to Mass. During this time name tags are made for each child on the scheduled list. Walk-ins are accepted as long as there are enough volunteers. When children are picked up, volunteers straighten the room in preparation for Monday’s "Morning Out" session.
