Homeless Support Circle - A Social Action Ministry

Social ActionWhat is a Homeless Support Circle?

The Homeless Support Circle program is part of the Raleigh/Wake Ending Homelessness effort that was created to help the approximately 200 evacuees from Hurricane Katrina to the Triangle area. In response to the needs of the evacuees, more than 40 local congregations formed 76 support circles to help the evacuees restore their family’s homes following the hurricane disaster. In Raleigh alone, there are more than 3,300 persons, including 700+ children who are homeless during the course of a year. Many congregations are now committing to continue this program locally to help support and house persons who are homeless in Raleigh and Wake County. St. Andrew’s Support Circle is a response to help our community’s struggling families overcome homelessness.
