Children’s Liturgy of the Word gathers young children, generally ages 4 and older, for an age appropriate experience of sacred scripture.
CLOW is offered during the Sunday 9:00 Mass on most weekends from September through April. We sing and hear God’s word in an environment that is joyful for children. Beginning Sunday, February 18, 2024, CLOW will also be available at the 11:00 a.m. Mass.
Children are dismissed after the opening prayer and gather in the chapel to hear the readings and a reflection on the Gospel. After a profession of faith and intercessions, children return to Mass during the offering. Children receive a worship bulletin based on the Gospel readings and a small token to remind them of the lesson for the day.
It’s easy to participate! Look for the CLOW table in the gathering space before Mass. Sign in your child and indicate your seating section using the provided color-coded map. Please make a nametag for your child as well. Parents are always welcome to join us.
This ministry exists because of the willing hearts of volunteers. We have two specific needs.
- Catechists- lead the worship time. An outline of the worship time is provided to the catechists.
- Shepherds- provide supervision and extra helping hands.
Both catechists and shepherds help with registering children prior to Mass. Please join us! This is a volunteer experience that is minimal in commitment but high in reward. Sign up for the weeks that work best for you.
