Touching Hearts

I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples – if you have love for one another.”
John 13:34-35

Through the love and
compassionate mercy of Christ,
this ministry seeks to share faithful hope by loving others.

“Encourage one another and build one another up.”
1 Thess. 5:11

Ongoing Needs

Touching Hearts is continuing to reach out to the elderly who are lonely or spiritually in need of encouragement at local long-term care facilities. Cards and drawings are welcomed to bring cheer to the residents. In addition, supplies for the facilities are currently being accepted on an ongoing basis.  At this time, the items needed are listed in the column at the side. Please ensure these items are NEW.

Please drop off donations in the “Touching Hearts” bin in the collection area of the parish office.

Thank you in advance for participating in these spiritual AND corporal works of mercy.  May God bless you for your loving generosity.

There are three purposes of this ministry:

  1. To reach the elderly and vulnerable who are lonely and sad with inspirational and cheerful correspondence and to assure them of our prayers.
  2. To seek the names and addresses of those who are isolated due to the pandemic and who would appreciate being contacted through mail with encouraging words.
  3. To seek donations of greeting cards (blank or pre-written), drawings from children, prayer cards, inspirational stickers, and anything hopeful that would bring a smile to the recipients’ faces.
