Catholic disciples on mission are called to put Two Feet of Love in Action! This foundational principal includes two distinct, but complementary, ways we can put the Gospel in action in response to God’s love: social justice (addressing systemic, root causes of problems that affect many people) and charitable works (addressing immediate needs and providing emergency assistance). Learn more about this concept on the US Bishop’s website here.
While St. Andrew parishioners are very generous with Charitable Giving, the information below provides an opportunity do acts of advocacy.
You are invited to form your conscience on the issues below and complete the action opportunities if you feel called to do so.

Join Bread for the World in pursuing a world without hunger. Please take a few minutes to write your members of Congress. Urge them to help families and children experiencing hunger and poverty—no matter where they live. Sample printed letters will be available for you to review and add personal thoughts after Mass on April 26 & 27. Combined with others from our parish—and joined with the voices of thousands of advocates across the country—your letter or email will be an expression of faith and hope.

The Catholic Church states that organ donation is an acceptable and even morally laudable practice. The Catechism of the Catholic Church says that organ transplants “are in conformity with the moral law,” though only “if the physical and psychological dangers and risks to the donor are proportionate to the good that is sought for the recipient” (No. 2296).
Currently 2 parishioners are seeking organ transplants.

- Safe Haven Baby Box
This initiative has saved many lives in Indiana, but other states’ Safe Surrender laws require in-person surrender of children. The Knights of Columbus have a lobbying effort to change this and allow parents to surrender their children through a Baby Box with a person on hand to receive the baby 24 hours a day.
