This class is designed for children who have completed the 4s program and need an extra year to grow before entering full day kindergarten. Children who turn 5 years old before December 1 may also be eligible depending on teacher/director recommendation and classroom availability. The teachers weave literacy, math, science, and writing into thematic units. The children have many opportunities to build independence and transition during center activities. Teachers encourage creative expression, problem solving, and responsibility throughout the day. Strengthening social skills, alphabet concepts and math foundations prepare the children for kindergarten.
